Principal Cloud Engineer

As a Principal Cloud Engineer, you will help ensure the satisfaction of our users by analyzing and translating business and technical requirements into a cloud architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve organizational objectives.
Your tasks will include partnering with systems and product owners to understand their needs, while working with Enterprise Architects, technical teams, Information Security and vendors to design network topology for migrations. Act as subject matter expert on AWS and other cloud providers, responsible for end to end cloud architectures, cloud migrations, SaaS and multi-cloud providers integrations.

As a Principal Cloud Engineer, you will help ensure the satisfaction of our users by analyzing and translating business and technical requirements into a cloud architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve organizational objectives.

Your tasks will include partnering with systems and product owners to understand their needs, while working with Enterprise Architects, technical teams, Information Security and vendors to design network topology for migrations. Acting as subject matter expert on AWS and other cloud providers, you will be responsible for end to end cloud architectures, cloud migrations, SaaS and multi-cloud providers integrations.

How will you make an impact?

•Lead cloud solutions rollout. Hands-on migration work. Define required monitoring, transition to operations and automate manual processes as much possible.​
•Responsible for designing and building evaluation environments and labs. Research and evaluate new technologies, network topology, cloud offerings and solutions.
•Conduct market analysis, capabilities comparison, pilots, document and present findings and recommendations. Provide best practices, recommendations and guidance for use of the cloud.
•Take the lead on technical escalations and drive incidents/problems until resolution.​​ That involves virtualization, automation, networking, cloud infrastructure, security and integration with 3rd party products.
•Create architecture documents, requirements, network designs, roadmaps, technology maintenance/upgrade lifecycle, execution plans, monitoring and health checks validations, recovery plan, roll back plans, DR solutions, etc.
•Work with the operations team to upgrade outdated appliances, systems and servers. Lead and plan future upgrades and maintenance.​ Lead performance and load testing efforts
What you’ll bring to the role:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related Major
•AWS Architect - Professional
•Minimum of 8 years of professional experience managing/architecting Network technologies.
•The engineer should be comfortable working on multiple routing, switches, load balancing, and security platforms.
•Five or more years hands-on experience designing and deploying Production cloud architectures on AWS.
•Performed multiple large escalate cloud migrations to AWS.
•Extensive experience migrating RDBS databases to AWS, redshift, and PostgreSQL.

If a bachelor’s degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions. One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
