This role focuses on operation of a Mill/5-Axis CNC Machine
Team member who routinely sets up and operates manual and computer numerically controlled (CNC) shop equipment using drawings and prints to consistently produce high quality parts

• Set-up manual and CNC machines for production and prototype operation
• Read and understand drawings and prints to produce parts as required
• Make critical machine adjustments to maintain production rate and quality
• Modify existing machine tool programs at control interface
• Create precision machining programs using company software programming tools
• Know how to inspect part characteristics at in-process and final check points
• Assist in teaching and setting-up machines/equipment

Equipment Preparation, Set-up, Operation, Cleaning and Maintenance
• Set-up and/or breakdown equipment, fixtures, tooling, etc for production and prototype parts
• Proficiently produce simple and complex finished and semi-finished parts at the highest standards
• Assure all department work centers and related areas are safely maintained, clean and organized
• Perform, monitor and teach routine and preventative maintenance of machines and equipment
• Anticipate, identify, resolve and/or notify supervisor of maintenance issues

• Monitor workstation(s) queue volume; notify supervisor as needed to assure smooth efficient flow
• Review, request and/or verify tooling is complete and ready for set-ups well in advance of need
• Make recommendations for improvements to all processes, procedures and policies
• Assist supervisor in ensuring department production, efficiency and safety goals are met
• Work with Engineering and Quality to identify process strengths, weaknesses and alternatives
• Provide support to engineering for development of parts and processes
• Demonstrate proficiency in CNC-related programming and drawing software

Quality Assurance – Inspection, Dimensional Checks, Part Appearance, Conformance
• Perform First Piece and routine in-process inspections within the scope of Quality guidelines.
• Monitor part quality and conformance as needed during each production run
• Look for, resolve/report product quality defects, quantity discrepancies, documentation errors, etc
• Promote, guide and assist others to meet Quality policy, ISO standard, customer expectations, etc
• Instruct and mentor department members on part cleanliness, uniform finish, workmanship, etc
• Perform other tasks as trained and able

Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirement:
1. Verifiable High School Diploma/GED
2. 3-5 years of applicable experience in a manufacturing setting
3. Employment of at least six months in current job and conduct/performance of good standing
